Watersedge is just that - a few steps to the beautiful Lake Macquarie - private jetty, kayaks, fishing gear and just about everything you’d ever need for a great stay. The Boathouse is well laid out and very comfortable . The breakfast was brilliant - more than enough. The Hunter Valley wineries are a short drive away and local restaurants are only a couple of minutes away. We had the most fantastic romantic getaway at the absolutely gorgeous Watersedge Boathouse. We feel in love with the stunning view, literally right on the waters' edge, and the cosy feel and just couldn't believe how comfortable the Boathouse was, every tiny little detail has been so carefully thought through. The icing on the cake was the incredibly delicious breakfast that's included for 2 two nights - what a special touch. I had the absolute pleasure of staying in the Boathouse for 10 days in April 2025. From booking the accommodation and throughout my whole stay, my experience was 100% fantastic. The hosts were lovely and very responsive to communications. Their knowledge of the Lake Macquarie area was priceless. The accommodation was beautifully clean with too many little extras to list that made me feel totally spoilt. The waterfront views were picture perfect no matter the weather. We came to celebrate our anniversary and that we did, thank you so much to our host to wake up every morning and see the canvas of artwork infront of true creation which was unmatched and peaceful. The boathouse is very clean and added to our wishes so much delightful time. We didn’t do much but enjoyed the nautical effect. I had a lovely few nights away at the Watersedge Boathouse. It was perfectly located on the waters edge, with a very peaceful outlook. Sandra and Colin were quick to respond when there was a mechanical difficulty and were friendly and helpful. Sandra’s folder was impressively comprehensive with lots of great info. Sandra & Colin’s Watersedge B&B was perfect for our week away to celebrate my partner’s 50th birthday. There was space to park both our boat trailer & car in the driveway provided. The accommodation was well presented & had everything we needed. The cheese & biscuits were devoured once we’d unpacked & the breakfast provisions were more than enough for two days. Sandra was responsive to a couple of questions we had during our stay & we appreciated Colin’s help/advice about local weather conditions together with the best way to tie up our boat. We made good use of their private jetty, going out on the water almost every day. We used the complimentary Wangi RSL membership card provided in the welcome book (twice!) and also tried out the local Thai restaurant (Bunsom’s Aussie Thai) which was very tasty & good value. We loved meeting Benji who was cutely protective. We would definitely come back if the opportunity arose. Your place is absolutely stunning & we had the best time. From the moment you enter the view is breathtaking & we felt completely relaxed. Colin also told us to look out for the harvest moon, which we saw rise above the jetty (a moment to remember). We also really appreciated all the details in the place including the breakfast provisions, bath salts, bikes & canoes. We sent pictures to our family & friends & they are very keen to visit.
